Prep Time: 30 Mins Cook Time: 25 Mins Serves: 4
Ingredients:
3 cups of All Purpose Flour or Very Strong White Flour
7 grams Dry Active Yeast
2 tsp Sugar
½ tsp salt
3 tbsp Oil
¾ to 1 pint Hot Water
Method:
Sieve the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
Add the oil and mix well until the oil is combined. Finally, sieve the flour again.
Slowly add hot water and knead the dough using a fork to form a soft dough, as the water will be hot.
Divide the dough into three balls and leave it to rest for 5 minutes, covering with a kitchen towel.
Work each piece of dough with your hands for about a minute until it forms a smooth and even ball.
Then, roll out the dough with a rolling pin. Transfer it to a lightly buttered tray, spread it out with your hand to the edge of the tray, and put it in the oven for 6 hours. This will ferment the dough.
It will make three 14-inch pizzas or five 7-inch pizzas.
Preheat the oven on 180°C, gas mark 5, and bake the pizzas for 10-12 minutes until the top of the bases are crisp and golden brown.
Then flip the base, spread the pizza sauce over each pizza base, and top with your favourite toppings and mozzarella cheese.
Bake for a further 10-12 minutes till the cheese has melted.
Serve hot with mixed-leaf salad, potato salad or coleslaw.
