Kit Kat Burfi

Preparation and Cooking Time: 45 min.


Ingredients:

2½ cups Rice Krispies

2½ cups Cornflakes

8 Pieces Shredded Wheat

150g Rich Tea Biscuits

500g Digestive Biscuits

1 cup Almonds

1 cup Cashew Nuts

½ cup Pistachio

300g Butter

450g Golden Syrup

300g Cooking Milk chocolate

150g Orange Flavour Chocolate

6 tbsp Cocoa Powder


Method:

  1. Coarsely grind the rice krispies, cornflakes, shredded wheat, biscuits, almonds, cashew nuts and pistachios. Mix them well and set aside.

  2. Melt the butter on low heat in a large saucepan. Add the golden syrup and sift the cocoa powder in, making sure it has combined well. Turn off the heat.

  3. Add the cereal and biscuits mixture and mix well until everything has combined.

  4. In a 14-inch rectangle tray, line up with parchment paper and pour the mixture; press it down hard to flatten and smoothen it.


  • Put a bowl over boiling water and melt the orange flavour and cooking chocolate.

  • Once the chocolate has melted, pour it over the barfi.

  • Place it in the fridge overnight and cut into small squares the next day.
