Mag Ni Dal

Ingredients:

1 cup Moong Dal Yellow Split

½ tsp Oil

½ tsp Ghee (Clarified Butter)

½ tsp Fenugreek Seeds

½ tsp Mustard Seeds

½ tsp Cumin Seeds

¼ tsp Turmeric Powder

¼ tsp Asafoetida

6 Cloves of Garlic Finely Chopped

2 tbsp Ginger Paste

2-3 Green Chilies (Depending on how spicy you want it)

1 Tomato Chopped

2 tbsp Coriander

Salt to taste


Method:

  1. Wash and soak the split moong dal for 20 minutes in warm water.

  2. Add the tomato, turmeric powder and salt, and boil with 2¼ cups of water until cooked.

  3. Add oil and ghee to Futura Hard Anodised Tadka Spice Heating Pan; once hot, add the fenugreek, mustard, cumin, asafoetida, green chillies, and garlic; sauté for 30 seconds. Now add the ginger paste and sauté for a minute.

  4. Then, pour the tadka into the boiled dal and mix well. Simmer on low heat for 10 minutes. Add the chopped coriander and mix well.

  • Enjoy hot with Bhakari or Paratha or on its own!
